Third Son of the Survivalist

When Cherise Sinclair started this series I wasn't thrilled. Don't get me wrong, I love her books but having a story about four brothers in a small Alaskan town instead of reading more of her BDSM Club books wasn't all that appealing. However, apparently not only submissives get what they need and not what they want :)

Blurb

She will risk everything to rescue her friend.

Frankie’s BFF and four-year-old son are trapped inside a fanatical militia’s compound. In Alaska, no less. Wilderness rescues are so not in the New Yorker’s skill set. But she’ll figure it out. She must.

Bull’s new roadhouse server is a mass of contradictions.

The city girl’s reasons for being in Alaska don’t add up. Bull’s been burned by liars before. So, why is he falling for this crap again? Maybe it’s her big brown eyes, exuberant personality—or her generous, compassionate heart. Whatever the reason is, he cares. If she’s in trouble, he’ll do his damnedest to get her out.

The huge Alaskan is terrifyingly compelling--and heartwarmingly concerned for her.

But Frankie refuses to involve Bull in the deadly mess. Her plan to rescue her bestie will work without anyone getting hurt. As she tries her best not to fall in love, she doggedly acquires each skill she’ll need.

Getting shot, though…that hadn’t been on her to-do list.

Review

From the moment Hawk was revealed as the pilot in the first book, I fell for him and this book only made me fall more in love with him. But I'm not going to spoil the ending, and I have to share a bit about Frankie and Bull first since they're the main characters in this book.

What I like about the women in these stories is how strong they are and how loyal to their friends and (chosen) families. They might have it rough, might be scared but they fight for what they want and what is right. Frankie isn't an exception. Strong women usually are fiercely independent, so it takes a special kind of man to conquer her heart and Bull is just the right man for the task. If only Frankie would confide in him...

Foster care surviver, army veteran and financial genius Bull has been burned by women before. If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen. Bull has no intention what so ever to stay out of anything Frankie related. Now all he has to do is keep her safe... and in Alaska.

When the reason for Frankie's stay in Rescue is revealed and the town - once again - join forces to keep their loved ones safe, Bull seemed to have finally gotten through to Frankie. That is until her entire family shows up and tries to convince Bull's woman to return to New York. Her mind might tell her she has family obligations, her heart shows her a different story.

Cherise Sinclair gifted us with another group of great people, with exciting stories to read (or to listen to). Personally I can't wait for Hawk's story or for having 'What You See' brought to us as an audiobook. She's a great storyteller, whether the book contains BDSM elements or not.
